“Drugs To The Rescue”- A Short Story

The HIV terrorists had been successful in their campaign against the Confederate states [human systems]. With the help of the ferocious TB mercenaries, they had been able to lay more Confederations [human beings] to waste.

News of their conquest spread like wild fire, fuelled by fear, consuming hope in its wake, as they recruited more mercenaries; the Lymphomas, Pneumocystis Pneumonia [PCP], Cryptococcocis, and other opportunistic infections.

Confederation X, by means of its Intelligence agency, the Ear, had picked up Intel on how the aliens were able to invade the other Confederations. And with a defence strategy developed by the Brain based on that intel, they had taken all necessary precautionary measures to that effect.

In their diplomatic interactions [sexual intercourse] with other confederations, they made sure they covered their portals with assault repellants [condoms], creating physical barrier to possible invasion via the urethral route, lest those other confederations were harbouring the HIV hostiles without knowing it.

But while they concentrated mainly on guarding the secret penile canal with the assault repellants, the HIV terrorists sprung a surprise offensive on them via the sea [blood] route. This amphibious invasion was made possible by an ingenious strategy using a specialized Submarine ship, called Hypodermic Syringe, to drop off the hostiles [introduce the virus] into the sea [blood stream].

Once the HIV hostiles were in, they incapacitated Confederation X’s military [the immune system], especially the land soldiers and Marines. With the defences of Confederation X weak, more hostiles came in from all angles to overwhelm and terrorize the civilians[cells other than the White blood cells]. The deadly PCP mercenaries invaded the lung realm; the ferocious Cryptococcus neoformans mercenaries, the Brain and Spinal cord realm; and the fierce Isospora belli intruders, the Intestinal realm.

The siege lasted for weeks. And just about when all hope was lost, the tables turned; Confederation X received support in the form of superior military hardware [drugs], which were delivered via the Mouth portal, through the Stomach and Intestinal route, to the sea [blood stream], and then spread to the 7 realms [the 7 organ systems of the body].

The military hardware included intruder-specific, laser-guided, ARV [Anti Retro Viral] Nuclear war heads, which specifically targeted the HIV terrorists, incapacitating them, and killing them in their numbers.

With hope rekindled, more soldiers [White Blood Cells] were deployed from the Bone Marrow barracks to rescue the three realms that were still under siege. The ones sent to the Lung realm were given special assault weapons with high calibre bullets called Septrin to fight off the PCP invasion; the ones sent to the canals of the Intestinal realms were given the same weapons, with Ciprofloxacin grenades to go with; and special forces, a group of commandos, armed with missile launchers called IV-Fluconazole, were sent to the state capital, the Brain and Spinal cord, to fight off the ferocious Cryptococcal invasion.

After 2 months of fierce counteroffensive, thousands had died, and cities had been laid to waste, but Confederation X was safe again.

It was time to rebuild. It wasn’t going to be easy, but with the help of relief materials in the form of Multivitamins and Hematinics [“blood building” drugs] ; and building blocks sourced from outside [as food] in the form of Amino acids, Carbohydrates, and Lipids; Confederation X would bounce back to shape, and become the successful state it once was.

Hoo-yah !

Unbeknownst to the good people of Confederation X, however, even though the assault had failed, the HIV terrorists weren’t completely vanquished. They lay in wait, blending into the general population, infiltrating the military [White Blood Cells] in the form of “Sleeper cells” awaiting reactivation, waiting for the right time to strike again.

And should the Confederation get lax and slacken on their ARV-boosted defences, they would rise again! And this time it may be an Apocalypse!
