There are several women who have gained notoriety in their quests to become living Barbie doll replicas—now a man is coming to steal their spotlight. Justin Jedlica is 34 years old, and is determined to transform himself into the human Ken doll.
The impressive list of surgeries include multiple rhinoplasty procedures, a brow lift, shoulder implants, chin, check and lip enhancements, as well as work to his buttocks.
“As a very detail oriented person I always find something new to critique and fix,” he said.
His surgeries have not only cost a hefty sum, but—as you can imagine—they have posed huge risks to his well being. In his latest procedure he had work done to strip away and reduce the appearance of his forehead veins. Surgeons had to access the veins by going through Jedlica’s eyelids, putting him at a high risk for blindness.
Jedlica is a self-described pioneer and describes his surgeries as an example of his artistry—calling himself an “aesthetic innovator” on his website. He designed and crafted his own back implants in order to achieve a look-a-like shape to the frame of a Ken doll.
He said:
“My back implants are also one-of-a-kind as I designed and handcrafted each piece to make sure they matched the Ken doll aesthetic. I designed the surgery to have one huge implant under the muscle and on top of that I had two small implants stacked on top of the other. I wanted the effect of having wings on my back.”
